Family/General Practice

AMC's family/general practice services are designed to take care of you and your family’s primary health care needs. We provide a full range of services for both children and adults, saving you the cost, time, and occasional confusion of consulting separate physicians. Our services include:

• General check-ups for infants, children, adolescents, and adults
• Sports, school, and camp physicals
• Immunizations
• X-ray, EKG, and lab
• Treatment of chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes

Urgent Care & Injury Treatment

AMC specializes in providing cost-effective care of minor and acute injuries and conditions that are not life threatening, such as lacerations, broken bones, strep throat, influenza, and ear infections. We have lab and x-ray on site.

With our extended hours and walk-in services, we can often save you a trip to the emergency room. For those acute illnesses that can’t wait for your primary care provider, we can fill the gap.

Immunizations

AMC provides immunizations to adults and children. Patients do not need to make an appointment - just come in and see us at any of our three clinics. Immunizations for adults and children are always available.

Occupational Medicine

Alaska Medical Clinics offers occupational medical services, including several types of physical examinations, all designed to meet the individuals' or companies' needs. Below are some of our available examinations and services:

• Workers compensation injuries
• Annual and periodic employee surveillance
• Respiratory examination and clearance (not fit testing)
• Pulmonary function and chest x-ray
• Asbestos and blood lead baseline and surveillance
• Hearing evaluation and monitoring (Dimond location only)
• Department of Transportation
• Consultations
• Basic physicals
• School district physicals
• Executive physicals
• School bus driver examinations
• Return to work examinations
• Drug and alcohol collection and testing (both DOT and non-DOT)
• Immunizations and titers

Alaska Medical Clinics follows the DOT guidelines for collecting, handling and/or testing specimens and reporting results. All screening results that are non-negative are confirmed with gas chromatography. A Medical Review Officer (MRO) reviews all test results. Patient confidentiality is always maintained and assured.
